Embodying growth

It seems to be omnipresent at the moment.

Growing our team.

Growing the clients we are taking on.

Growing via our first acquisition.

Growing as a person and as an agency to take all of this in.

So much is happening, yet simultaneously, the game seems to be slowing down. It is less chaotic, frenetic, destabilizing and scary than it used to be.

A lot of it has to do with maturing as individuals and as an organization. A lot of it also has to do with the faith we have in what we are trying to create without knowing exactly how it all turns out. Focusing our energies on the direction we are looking to take rather than the destination.

Following the energy trail, as I like to say.

For example, the company we are acquiring came as a result of meeting one of the owners on a bus heading to a dinner at the B Corp conference. You can’t script that in a strat plan!

It feels like the intention we have put out into the universe is acting, creating a gravitational pull of people and opportunities our way.

We stay open to the things we need, not just the things we like. Another example is running into an experienced, soon-to-be B Corp, mergers and acquisitions lawyer in the US or finding an expert in Project Management at the recent Dragon Boat Festival I participated in.

I could not have anticipated either, but both will help us lay a solid foundation for what we are trying to build.

We also seem to be attracting our people to the team. We now have 5 team members in Montreal that we have hired in the last 4 months. When we went for dinner a couple of weeks back, it was as if we had known each other our whole lives.

It feels like I’m living in the Jim Henson quote: “there’s no word yet for old friends who just met.”  I seem to be finding and attracting new “old” friends left and right.

Taking a moment to immerse ourselves fully and celebrate these blessings seems like the only way to go.

Thank you, thank you, thank you, is all I can really say.
